Defense minister: Iranian nation can never be threatened

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Bushehr, Nov 27, IRNA -- Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said the Iranian nation can by no means be threatened because its biggest value is Jihad (holy war) in the path of the Almighty.

Addressing a 50-thousand-strong gathering of Basij forces in this Persian Gulf province on Sunday, he said those who threaten the Iranian nation should first say to what extent they are ready to make sacrifices and how many of them are ready to get killed.

He said they should also say for how long they could stand war and to what extent they could tolerate to see their warships sink.

They should also declare how they are to stand destructive and mighty blows by Basij missiles and rockets in the sea.

The minister warned the American officials not to be naïve enough to think they have sufficient war experiences.

Thought when they arrived in Iraq, the Saddam regime surrendered and also in Afghanistan there was no one to fight them, they are still suffering from a very adverse situation in these two countries, he said.

Stressing that Iran was not a Vietnam for the US, he said the Islamic Iran is so strong at the moment that it is ready to show the US what a real war means if it dares to commit any foolish acts against Iran.

Vahidi said in case the Zionist regime decides to translate its threats against Iran into action, then Iranian combatants will revenge decades of suppression of Muslim nations by the Tel Aviv regime.

He further noted that the balance of power in region is presently against the Zionist regime and said there were clear disputes among Zionist officials now because its intelligence and military officials warn that the regime’s very existence will be put in danger if it takens any military actions against Iran.
