TEHRAN (ISNA)-An Iranian lawmaker Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh said that Iran would not leave membership of Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and IAEA.

He said, “Based on the general approach discussed in an Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Committee session, the parliamentarians stressed Iran should not pay heed to the smear campaigns on the country’s nuclear issue and must continue its approch based on the international doctrine.”

Representatives from Iranian Foreign Ministry and Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) attended the session.

“Iran’s nuclear activities and diplomatic process were discussed in the commission session as well. The participants concluded that Iran should take steps through logical approach and dignity to achieve its jut right,” Falahatpishe noted.

He continued, “Members of the commission believed that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and hegemonic powers are trying to encourage Iran to leave NPT by passing untrue resolutions, statements and reports so that they can easily accuse Iran of possessing nuclear weapons.”

He stressed Iran would not leave NPT or IAEA membership and would follow the vindication of its rights.
