Qom, Nov 23, IRNA -- Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi said on Wednesday enemies are trying to make regional unrests spill over to Iran and other countries which are axis of resistance in the region.
He made the remark in a large gathering of religious preachers.
'Containing Iran's influence on regional developments and stopping Iran from playing its role model for regional nations are main reasons behind enemies's anti-Iran actions,' the minister said.
Moslehi said they are bent on spreading unrests in regional states to Iran by fomenting domestic tensions particularly during the upcoming parliamentary eledtions in a bid to topple the government.
“They view election as the best excuse for attacking the Islamic Revolution because they are to convince the world that religious democracy in Iran has failed,' he said.
“The US, Israel and certain Persian Gulf countries are currently involved in an intelligence war on Iran,” the minister said, noting that these countries are struggling to change the threat of Islamic Awakening into an opportunity for their own interest.
He said they are trying to mislead the public opinion in the region and world by using the term of “Arabic Spring” instead of 'Islamic Awakening'.
