TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iranian ambassador to the IAEA Ali Asghar Soltanieh said Saturday there is no nuclear material or activity in Parchin District, southeastern capital Tehran.

His remarks came after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has raised some questions and remarks on Parchin site whereas the issue had been resolved under the framework of modality between Iran and the former IAEA Director General Mohammad ElBaradei.

Soltanieh in an interview with ISNA referred to the report released by the former IAEA Chief Mohammad ElBaradei and said, "The inspectors visited four points in Parchin site, one of which was explosive tank, a site the incumbent IAEA Chief Yukiya Amano has referred to in his recent report. It became clear that the he has made a big mistake since the file was closed by the agency after investigations."

"Since the issue was explicitly mentioned in previous reports by the IAEA, the points discussed in the recent report are unfounded and there is no nuclear material or activity in the area."

Also regarding Iran's response to the IAEA readiness to send a team of inspectors to Iran, he said, "Iran should examine the issue because it had invited the IAEA Deputy Director General to talks on the agency's ambiguity before the Board of Governors (BOG) meeting."
