Tehran, Nov 12. IRNA -- Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan said on Saturday Iran's armed forces are well-prepared to counteract any hostile action.
He made the remarks on the sidelines of a congress of senior command officers of the Army's ground forces.
“Iran’s armed forces are always ready to respond to any threats and will not forget and neglect their high duty,” Brig. Gen. Pourdastan said.
Pointing to the new threats posed by western countries to Iran, he added that the threats being made by Zionist regime and the US are not something new because Iranians got used to hearing such threats repeatedly over the past 30 years since victory of the Islamic Revolution.
The commander termed the new threat by the US and Israel as a bluff to overshadow the current internal conflict and their immense domestic crises.
Pourdastan said the Wall Street movement across the United States and the Zionist regime's disintegration from within are the crises they are suffering from.
“They inevitably have no choice to mislead their and other nations’ public opinion to something other than what they are suffering from, so they pose such a threats to Iran.'
