IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Beijing, Nov 10, IRNA -- Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said on Thursday that sanctions can not appropriately solve Iran’s nuclear issue.
He told a daily news briefing that China is firmly opposed to any use of force against Iran to prevent it from pursuing nuclear technology.
Referring to the International Atomic Energy Agency's recent report on Iran, he said Beijing is against applying any pressure in order to help solve any international problem.
The Chinese FM spokesman underlined the need to find a lasting, comprehensive and appropriate solution for the issue, stressing that the issue could be resolved only through dialogue and cooperation.
He also urged the UN nuclear watchdog to cooperate with the Islamic Republic to resolve the remaining issues.
