TEHRAN (ISNA) - Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Expatriates' Affairs Hassan Qashqavi said the country is legally pursing the US recent allegation against Iran.

The US has recently claimed that Iran was involved in a plot to assassinate Saudi Arabian ambassador to Washington Adel al-Jubeir. Iran, however, insists that the accusation is "baseless" and that the US aims to divert the word's public opinion from its internal issues and world challenges through the accusation. "The US allegation on Iran's involvement in the assassination plot is a much unfounded comment and the West does not accept it either," he told ISNA.

"New York Times had written that the issue was topic of a film scenario that a Hollywood cinematographer Quentin Jerome Tarantino was to make a film with this topic," he added.

The US also claimed that it arrested Manssor Arbabsiar, 56, on Sept. 29 in New York who was linked to the alleged assassination.
