TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iran and Russia signed two nuclear power plant cooperation protocols on the sidelines of Bushehr power plant launch ceremony.
The cooperation protocols were signed by Managing Director of Iran’s Production and Development of Nuclear Energy Company Ahmad Fayazbakhsh and the Head of Russian Atomstroyexport Corporation Alexander Glukhov Monday.
One of the protocols focusing on power plant's readiness for specific tests aims at preventing the outbreak of incidents like Fukushima incident and the other nuclear cooperation protocol seeks the employment of atomic power plants.
Iranian and Russian officials Monday inaugurated Iran's first nuclear power plant in the southern Persian Gulf port of Bushehr.
The ceremony was attended by Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Chief Fereydoon Abbasi, as well as Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko and the Head of Russia's state-run nuclear power corporation Rosatom, Sergei Kiriyenko.
