TEHRAN (ISNA) - The Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Fereydoon Abbasi Davani said Wednesday the country is transferring centrifuges from Natanz to Fordo nuclear site.
“The test of turbine was accomplished on Tuesday successfully and it is passing a logical process, “Abbasi said on the sidelines of the cabinet meeting.
As to the test of turbine, he said, “the test was carried out on Tuesday and the reactor has gained 400MW power and steam has been produced."
He added, “the process is making progress and God willing we will fulfill our promise regarding the upcoming ceremonies to be held in presence of Russian officials.”
As to transferring centrifuges from Natanz site to Fordo nuclear facility, Abbasi said, ”They are being carried out and technical works in dealing with the issue are underway.”
He noted, “Infrastructure measures should be accomplished there and machines need to be installed and launched due to the schedule. The process is underway and machines have been transferred to some extant, but it is not completed yet and we make the best effort to keep all the standards."
As to the amount of 20 percent enriched uranium, the AEOI Chief continued, “We produce the same amount in Natanz site, the production has not been increased. We are to boost the security in Fordo site.”
