TEHRAN (ISNA)-Three American nationals' lawyer Masoud Shafiei said he has not received any court verdict over the case of his clients.
“I have not received any formal or informal news as court’s verdict over the case of my clients,” Shafiei told ISNA on Saturday.
His comments came after an informed Iranian judicial official said the US nationals each have been sentenced to 8 years imprisonment.
The source had said Bauer and Fattal, who are both 29, have each been sentenced to three years imprisonment for illegal entry into Iranian territory and five years imprisonment for espionage for the United States intelligence service and that they have 20 days to appeal the sentence.
Sarah Shourd released on bail in September 2010 returned to the US, but her case is still open.
The fourth and final hearing session of the three US nationals Shane Bauer, Joshua Fattal and Sarah Shourd was held July 31 in Tehran. While the third one was absent.
The two American nationals and their lawyer who appeared in the fourth hearing session of the trial defended themselves.
Shafiei has already expressed hope the sentence term of his defendants would not last longer than the period of their detention.
The three Americans were detained in July 2009 due to illegal entry into Iranian lands.
