Army chopper crashes in Isfahan

Isfahan, May 31, IRNA -- An IRI Army helicopter crashed in Isfahan Monday morning.

According to the Public Relations of the IRI Army, the Army Air Commander Brigadier Kiyoumars Ahadi announcing the news in a contact with the Army information website, added, 'One of our Cobra helicopters, belonging to Isfahan's Martyr Vatanpour Training Center, had an engine failure at 10:30 am Monday while performing a training mission in vicinity of Isfahan City and crashed.'

Commander Ahadi pointed out that both the tutor pilot and his student pilot were martyred in the crash, adding, 'A team of experts is now dispatched to the crash scene to survey the matter carefully.'

The fatal air crash occurred after the Army helicopters' 1,001 days of safe flight which included 26,700 hours of training flights at the Army Air fleet of Isfahan.
