IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, May 24, IRNA -- Defense and Logistical Affairs Minister said here Monday liberation of Khorramshahr was not merely military victory, but a cultural one; fruit of nation’s, country’s, and system’s great self-confidence.
According to the IRNA Political Desk reporter, the Islamic Republic Guard Corps (IRGC) Brigadier Ahmad Vahidi made the comment addressing the media representatives on the sidelines of a moratoria commemoration of the Country’s Head Inspections Organization Chief Hojjatoleslam Mostafa Poormohammadi’s late mother, coinciding with the liberation anniversary of Khorramshahr from the Iraqi occupier forces.
He added, “May 24th is the anniversary of one of the greatest prides of the Sacred Defense (against Saddam Army) era.”
Brigadier Vahidi said that that day was the day for regaining the identity of the combatants of Islam, and the people’s power in their mighty defense at various fields, including the field of military defense.”
The IRI defense minister reiterated, “When the mobilization Basij and the classical military forces entered the battle fields under the command of the late Imam Khomeini (P), couple with the exit from the scene of such elements as the (first IRI President Ablohassan) Banisard, we managed to perform successfully at the fields of defending the country, including liberating Khorramshahr.”
US, WEST, COFESS IRAN’S CYBER POWER IS GREAT
IRGC Brigadier Vahidi elsewhere in his press conference referred to the US President Barrack Obama’s recent comments where he said the United States would respond to any cyber attack against its interests with a military invasion, arguing, “Let us first point out that they (the west) were unsuccessful in their Stuxnet virus attack (against the Iranian nuclear reactor).”
The Iranian defense minister reiterated, “Iran dealt with the matter so mightily that they were urged to confess that Iran’s advancement in confrontation with cyber attacks was unpredictable and unbelievable.”
He added, “The (the Americans), have invaded such countries as Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan that have never launched cyber attacks against them either, so such threats are merely baloney pretexts!”
