TEHRAN (ISNA)-The Head of Iran's Bassij paramilitary forces Mohammad Reza Naghdi said on Saturday that allegations on dispatch of Iranian Bassij forces and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to Syria are ridiculous.

His remarks came after some western media claimed that Iran has sent paramilitary Bassij and IRGC forces to Syria to crack down on protests.

"This is a funny and ridiculous claim, since neither Syria needs such an act and nor Iran intends to do so," he told reporters in a press conference.

He further called for extradition of members of Mojahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) to Iran to be handed over to judicial systems of the country.

Naghdi also criticized some international bodies' treatment with MKO members and terrorist groups and said, "international organizations should be held accountable that why murderers of 17,000 Iranians and over 20,000 Iraqis are still at large in Europe and the US. Cases of these murderers have been delivered to the organizations and complaints have been filed for their extradition to Iran, but even one of them has not been handed over so far. All of these murderers are linked to the West and they are used in their media."
