TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iranian Navy Commander Brigadier General Habibollah Sayyari said Iranian warships' arrival in Mediterranean Sea is in line with international norms.
"The aim of Iranian warships visit of Mediterranean Sea and Syria has been sending message of peace and friendship to regional countries," said Habibollah Sayyari after stepping in Damascus.
"Navy of any country holds military warships and these visits are in line with norms of military battleships."
He also called arrival of the Iranian vessels in Syria a "routine program" to train Iranian military students."
"The Iranian warships passed Suez Channel after making coordination with Egypt and they faced no problem when moving to Mediterranean Sea," he noted.
