Iran installs new atom Chief

TEHRAN (ISNA) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad issued an order appointing Fereidoun Abbasi as chief of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) and Vice President.
The order came following former Chief's appointment Ali Akbar Salehi as Iranian Foreign Minister who won parliamentary confidence vote and replaced dismissed Manouchehr Mottaki.
Fereidoun Abbasi Davani, 52, a university professor, holds a PhD in nuclear physics and is a laser specialist.
He was injured in an attempted terror attack on 30 October 2010 and was taken to hospital yet he was not injured seriously.
His university colleague, Majid Shahriyari was killed in the attack.
