Iran unveils fixed, mobile stations

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iran inaugurated two fixed and one mobile stations to receive remote sensing pictures on Sunday in presence of Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi.
"Fixed station which is to receive remote sensing pictures is architected completely indigenously," Vahidi told reporters.
The station covers area of at least 2,500 km and takes pictures from area of 10,000,000 km of cubic meters every 24 days, he added.
The pictures can be used in agriculture, city building, unexpected events and other fields, Vahidi noted adding the facility is able to intercept objectives at the speed of 8 degree per second.
He also said the mobile station has boosted user's capability for faster and safer contact to control the station's operation and that the installation covers more operation area and promotes quality of the received signal.
