MP: Iran strongly opposed West's hostile policies during Istanbul talks

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Birjand, Jan 24, IRNA -- Member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mohammad Karim Abedi said on Monday that the Islamic Republic of Iran steadfastly stood up to the hostile policies of the western countries during Istanbul talks.

Iran’s firm stand during the talks made them confess that they could not attain their goals, he said.

Speaking to IRNA, he said Iran is very proud of its performance in the international community as the country has not violated the international laws.

As a member of the IAEA, Iran has fully acted upon its legitimate rights and the agency is duty-bound to carry out its duties towards the country, he said.

Following negotiations between western countries, they tried to exert more pressure on Iran but to no avail, he said.

They did not abide by any logic in their negotiations and always tried to attain their goals through hegemony but they were ignorant of the fact that the Iranian nation will continue its path and never take action against divine as well as international rules, he said.

During recent talks in Istanbul, the western countries tried to dictate their wishes to Iran but the latter strongly rejected them and followed logic and rationality, he said.
