Jalili: G5+1 should avoid animosity with other nations

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Istanbul, Jan 22, IRNA -- Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili attending the G5+1 meeting in this Turkish city recommended the G5+1 countries to avoid the causes of animosity with other nations.

Speaking after his meeting with EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton in Istanbul, Jalili said that one of the issues that has always been emphasized by the Islamic Republic of Iran is that negotiations can be successful and fruitful if they are based on a common logic.

He further said that if other means are used in negotiations instead of a common logic, they will not certainly be negotiations.

“In that case, it is dictated which does not conform to cultures of governments and nations. It was decided in Geneva that the G5+1 talks with Iran will continue in Istanbul due to the fact that we believe that many talks at the international level can take place in the birthplaces of Islamic civilizations,” Jalili added.

He noted that when talks are based on common grounds, they will be constructive.
