Fuel swap a common point between Iran, 5+1 Group

Istanbul, Jan 22, IRNA -- Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili said here on Sunday that fuel swap can serve as a common point for cooperation between Iran and 5+1 Group.
In response to a question by reporter whether has set conditions for talks, Jalili dded that Tehran has underlined respect for nations’ rights and avoiding violation of their rights.
The issues are prerequisites for dialogue, he noted.
Jalili who was talking after meeting with the EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton added that fuel swap can serve as an area of cooperation between Iran and 5+1 Group.
Asked about the Ashton’s proposals to Iran, he also said that using peaceful nuclear energy is a suitable area of cooperation among the nations within the framework of NPT.
“NPT has underlined respect for other nations’ rights, in addition to the fact that it has enshrined duties for the member states,” he said.
Jalili further noted that NPT has clearly stated that nations are entitled to peaceful nuclear energy as well as uranium enrichment.
Stating that a democratic atmosphere should govern the world, he also said that it is not logical that several countries introduce themselves as the representatives of the international community.
