EU Says Inspections Of Iran's Nuclear Sites Up To IAEA
January 05, 2011
The European Union says it has not yet responded to Iran's offer to tour its nuclear facilities, but believes such inspections should be conducted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
A European Commission spokesman made the comments today, one day after Iran announced it had invited some envoys accredited to the IAEA to visit important nuclear facilities this month.
Representatives from Britain, China, France, Russia, the United States, and Germany are to meet with Iranian officials later this month for another round of talks on Tehran's controversial nuclear program.
