IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Dec 29, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Wednesday that Iranians disappointed enemies during last year's post-elections riots through their courage and faith.
The faithful people of Iran have disappointed enemies in many fields through their presence on the scene and courage,' said Ayatollah Khamenei during a meeting here with thousands of visitors coming from Gilan province in northern Iran.
Recalling last year's post-elections riots, the Supreme Leader said that was a 'massive challenge' for the Iranian nation.
'During eight months of the soft war, Iranians succeeded in thwarting enemies' conspiracy with their courage and initiative as they had previously done during the eight years of Iraq's imposed war against the country (1980-1988),' said the Supreme Leader.
Stressing that Iran's Islamic establishment 'is a popular system belonging to people,' the Supreme Leader said, 'Enemies should remember this message that Iranians are the one who uphold the Islamic Republic's dignity.'
