New York, Dec 11, IRNA -- Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative in the United Nations in a strongly-worded letter to the UN secretary general and heads of General Assembly and Security Council, criticized their passive stances vis a vis assasination of Iranian scientists

Mohammad Khazaei in his letter, which was published in the UN on Friday, condemned terrorist, inhuman and criminal act of assassination of Iranian scientists.

In the letter, Khazaei, mentioned recent terrorist attacks against two Iranian scientists named Majid Shahriari and Fereidoun Abbasi Davani, and added that it was not the first time that Iranian experts and scientists in peaceful nuclear program, were targeted by such attacks and just in last year another Iranian scientist Masoud Alimohammadi was killed .

The ambassador stressed in his letter that Iran expects the UN, in the framework of its responsibilities, to condemn such terrorist acts and pave the ground by effective steps for elimination of terrorism.

He continued that although known hands and the Zionist circles execute such terrorist acts to deprive Iran of its peaceful nuclear program, but these behaviors and political pressures cannot stop Iranians to pursue their right for nuclear activities.

Khazaei underlined that Iran would not compromise on its inalienable right for peaceful nuclear activities.

He asked the UN secretary general that the letter be published as a document of the Security Council and the General Assembly.
