Moslehi: Grouplet members involved in recent assassinations arrested

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Dec 4, IRNA -- Information Minister Heidar Moslehi said members of a terrorist grouplet were arrested in relation with the terrorist operations against Iranian nuclear scientists.

Talking to reporters here on Saturday, the minister said following certain intelligence operations, members of a terrorist grouplet have been arrested and confessed to having received trainings by the Mossad, the CIA and MI6 to carry out terrorist operations in Iran.

He said the important thing to note in this connection was that different intelligence services were working against the Islamic system in Iran by designing and carrying out terrorist operations in orchestrated efforts.

Moslehi said the assassination of another Iranian nuclear scientist Masoud Alimohamamdi early this year was also perpetrated by the same grouplet.

The Iranian information minister further stressed that the International Atomic Energy Agency should stand accountable for its performance in sending spies working for western intelligence services disguised as experts to Iran while the United Nations, too, should explain why it revealed the names of Iranian nuclear scientists under the pretext of exerting sanctions against Iran.

He believed the publication of names of the Iranian nuclear scientists, the remarks by the MI6 chief and the recent assassination and assassination attempt against two Iranian nuclear professors were all parts of a single scheme.

He further noted that western intelligence services hired the failed and broken terrorist gouplet of Mojahedeen Khalq Organization to carry out the recent terrorist operations.
