FM reacts to efforts of certain countries to issue anti-Iran resolution

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Nov 20, IRNA -- Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki reacted to the efforts on the parts of certain countries to have an anti-Iran resolution in the United Nations Human Rights Council.

In a press conference with his Zimbabwean counterpart Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, he referred to the efforts of certain countries including Canada to get a resolution against Iran, saying these countries were not basically eligible to talk of human rights.

He further said the all-too-explicit, grave and systematic breaches of rights of people in different parts of the world by European countries and the US has left so deep impacts on the public opinion that political games of this kind will have no positive results for these countries.

The foreign minister went on to point out that the indigenous people in Canada were suffering so deeply even at the preset time that a number of Canadian university scholars and writers have already decided to disclose their harsh conditions to the world.

He further noted that Canadian soldiers, alongside the occupier American soldiers were partners in the killing and massacre of hundreds of thousands of people in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He said those who claim defending human rights while violating them will not admit to international realities as they are.
