Mottaki rules out talks on nuclear swap deal with G5+1

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Nov 6, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Saturday that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not talk about nuclear swap deal with G5+1 as the issue had already been discussed with the Vienna group.

Mottaki made the remarks in an exclusive interview with IRNA on Saturday.

During last round of talks between the two sides, they exchanged proposals to this effect, he said.

Iran has raised several issues which should be made clear and responded by the G5+1, he said.

Their replies to the questions posed by Iran truly demonstrate their attitude towards the county’s nuclear dossier, Mottaki said.

Resumption of talks with G5+1 requires such prerequisites as date and venue of the meeting, he said.

There are various options which should be taken into consideration prior to beginning such negotiations, he said.

The G5+1 should explicitly define their stands on the nuclear arsenal of the Zionist regime before the world public opinion, he said.

Failing to give proper response to the questions raised by the Islamic Republic of Iran to this effect indicates that they are reluctant to answer the Iranian questions, Mottaki said.

The fact is that they should adopt a crystal clear stands on the Zionist regime’s nuclear arsenal as well as global disarmament, he underlined.

The Islamic Republic of Iran tries to draw the attention of the world to such undeniable realities, he said.
