Iran, always ready for talks: FM spokesman

Tehran, Oct 5, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said here on Tuesday that Tehran has always been ready for talks.
Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing, he reiterated that however, the Islamic Republic will not relinquish its rights.
Referring to the recent remarks made by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton saying Iran was not ready for talks, he said such a statement was incorrect.
He stressed that Tehran is ready to attend talks which recognize the Islamic Republic’s legitimate rights.
He also rejected the news broadcast by ‘Radio Farda’ claiming that Tehran-Washington confidential talks were held during President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s recent visit to the US.
