Tehran, Oct 5, IRNA -- A specialized commission in the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) asked the Foreign Ministry Tuesday to 'retaliate' the US recent move against the eight Iranian officials.
Members of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission urged the Foreign Ministry in a statement, a copy of which was sent to reporters, to 'defend the status and dignity of the Iranian officials by adopting retaliatory measures' against the US.
'Having made the move, the US was to maintain its psychological warfare against Iran,' read the statement, adding that the move was also made against the international norms and regulations.
'The US is acting against Iran while the Islamic world's public opinion as well as world's fair-minded individuals and elites acknowledge Iran's positive role in the regional developments,' the MPs said in the statement.
They stressed, 'the US is presently facing an Iran which strongly opposes its expansionism and persists on defending the rights of both the Iranian people and those of the world's other nations.'
