MP: Next Iran-G5+1 talks to be held with new arrangement

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Kuala Lumpur, Oct 2, IRNA -- The new round of nuclear talks between Iran and Group 5+1 is to be held with a new arrangement and new countries are to be included, a senior Iranian MP said Saturday.

Visiting Head of the Iranian Parliament's (Majlis) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Ala'eddin Boroujerid said that the next round of talks would be held with participation of some 'friendly states.'

Noting that the time for conducting the talks would be fixed later based on mutual consensus, Boroujerdi told IRNA that the talks might be held at the level of deputy foreign ministers of the two parties.

The senior MP added that the talks would focus on Iran's proposed package as well as major regional and international developments.

The fight against terrorism, anti-drugs campaign, global disarmament as well as the issue of energy security are among major issues to be discussed during the upcoming talks between Iran and Group 5+1, Boroujerdi added.

'Countries that play proper roles at the international arena, enjoy good relations with Iran and have independent votes would be included in the next talks,' Boroujerdi added without referring to the name of any certain state.
