Iran summons Swiss envoy to protest US move
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Oct 1, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry summoned the Swiss Ambassador to Iran Livia Leu Agosti late on Thursday to declare Iran's protest to the US illegal move to pose restrictions on the eight Iranian officials.
Foreign Ministry also condemned the move as clear interference in the country's internal affairs and conspicuous breach of First Clause of the Algeria Treaty.
The US government imposed financial and travel restrictions on eight senior Iranian officials, accusing them of human rights abuses during post-election unrest in Iran over a year ago.
The move amounts to disturb the international order because the US is by no means authorized to do such a thing, the report said.
The Swiss envoy who manages the US interests in Iran said that she will notify the US government of Iran's protest.
