MP: US attack on Iran unlikely
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Aug 22, IRNA -- An senior Iranian lawmaker said here on Sunday that the US attack on Iran is unlikely.
“Americans are well aware of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s potential, so it will be unlikely for them to dare attack Iran,” said Head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Ala’eddin Boroujerdi, here on Sunday.
Speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of an open Majlis session, Boroujerdi said Persian Gulf is of high importance to Americans and has some benefits for them.
He said that the US will never think of escalating tension and unrest in the Persian Gulf because global economy is strongly dependent on the region and the US has some benefits there.
“The US believes that any tension and unrest in the Persian Gulf are against its own interests,” he added.
