Launching of Bushehr power plant indicates Iran's fruitful efforts

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Aug 17, IRNA -- Launching of Bushehr power plant indicates that Iran’s efforts to acquire nuclear technology were fruitful, said spokesman for Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission.

Talking to IRNA, Kazem Jalali said the West wanted to make Iran withdraw from its right but it failed.

“Iran pursued its policy and finally managed to launch Bushehr nuclear power plant despite the obstacles created by the West,” he said.

Commenting on the White House’s statements that with the inaugural of Bushehr power plant, Iran will have no need for enrichment, he further added that there is no relationship between the enrichment program and launching of Bushehr power plant.

“Enrichment is Iran’s indisputable right and it will follow it seriously,” he said.

Referring to Majlis’ ratification assigning the government to produce 20,000 megawatts of nuclear power, Jalali also said that this means that Iran should build 20 1,000-megawatt power plants, requiring continuation of the enrichment program for producing fuel.
