IRGC Chief Commander: Nonchalance, great threat for revolution
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Semnan, July 22, IRNA -- Commander in Chief of Islamic Republic of Iran Guard Corps said here Wednesday evening we cannot be nonchalant towards Islamic Revolution, as nonchalance is a great threat and martyrs expect us to safeguard their ideals properly.
According to IRNA, the Basij Mobilization Force Reporters Club further quoted Brigadier Mohammad-Ali Ja’fari as saying in an address for the IRGC and Basiji forces at Imam Khomeini (P) auditorium of Qa’em Barracks in Semnan, “Some people insist in saying that the revolutionary guards (IRGC) and the Basiji mobilization forces are, and should be merely military forces, but the Supreme Leader emphasizes that Basij is not a military force and the Revolutionary Guards, too, are not merely military force and have other responsibilities at cultural, political, and security fields.”
He added, “It is right that we should always be ready for confrontation with any possible threat, but that is readiness based on foreign defense and security patterns.”
Brigadier Ja’far added, “Readiness of the entire forces is needed so that if the country is invaded from outside, or problems would emerge from this corner and that part of the society, they would confront them effectively, but that is not enough.”
He reiterated, “If we would merely suffice in doing that and if we would have such an approach towards the Islamic Revolution our deviation from the right path would begin from that point, because the enemy is not merely supposed to deprive us of our revolution merely through staging wars, or posing semi-hard threats and insecurity.”
Brigadier Ja’fari said that the philosophy of the Islamic Revolution and its effective and influential role need to be dully elaborated, adding, “Both the Revolutionary Guards (Pasdars) and the Baijies (mobilization forces) are in accordance with the Constitution commissioned to safeguard and defend the revolution and its achievements and in order to perform such duties we need tp comprehend the status quo and to analyze it properly; so we should never assume that thinking and analyzing is merely the task of the Supreme Leader.”
He added, “We must contemplate each day about the duties we have towards the Islamic Revolution and that kind of thinking and interaction with our environment is one of the expectations of the Supreme Leader from us.”
He added, “Safeguarding the Islamic Revolution is the philosophy behind the existence of the IRGC and Basij, since otherwise the Islamic system and the sacred land has lots of defenders, such as the IRI Army, the disciplinary forces, and the intelligence officers, so from that point of the view there would have been no need for the existence of the Revolutionary Guards, or the mobilization forces of the revolution.”
He added, “We are engaged in the soft war today and the enemy poses new threats with the break of each new day and the individuals that come at odd ends with the revolution resorting to any possible pretexts prove that they are under the influence of the soft war.”
The IRGC commander said, “The problem with most of those who have confronted the revolution today is that they have either got too much in love with the material aspects of life, or their hands have been severed off the public money.”
He said that the Islamic Revolution has had two aspects, namely the internal and the external aspects of it, adding, “In its internal aspect we need to achieve perfection of our system and our society, although that cannot be achieved unless the Imam of the Time (Imam Mahdi) would reappear, but at least our movement should be in that direction.”
Ja’fari added, “Preventing the possibility of the emergence of threats and moves aimed at ousting the system is the major responsibility of the security and defensive organization and the IRGC must heed that point.”
Brigadier Ja’fari added, “The enemy would not dare to launch a military invasion against Iran today and although it has deployed military forces into our neighboring countries, having seen the combat readiness of our forces has deprived it of the guts to invade our country.”
He reiterated, “We need to act in a way to fully dissuade the enemy from thinking about invading Iran.”
Ja’fari added, “Resorting to high alertness and awareness regarding the last year events and the experience of those who were present at the scenes, we need to perform our duties in a way that such plots would never be hatched against our security again.”
The commander in chief of the IRGC reiterated, “The Revolutionary Guards and the mobilization forces are the defenders and the supporters of the Islamic Revolution and we need to know that the deep-rooted last year plots were very serious threats against the revolution.”
