US unilateral sanctions on Iran run counter to int'l conventions

Tehran, July 18, IRNA -- The United States unilateral sanctions against Iran run counter to international conventions, violating human rights of Iranian nation.
Vienna Action Plan dated January 25, 1993, envisaged respect for the nations right to welfare and development and it is a global and inseparable part of human rights.
The Vienna Convention on the development rights has been defined as “An inseparable human rights which belongs to all people in terms of economic, social, cultural and political issues.”
The Human Rights Commission prohibits unilateral threatening measures citing the commercial restrictions, bans on trade transactions and blocking the assets as mandatory measure.
Sanctions imposed by the US mainly on investment in the energy sector have created problems in developing oi fields.
Unilateral sanctions imposed by the US is regarded as blatant interference in Iranian internal and foreign affairs which runs counter to clause seven of article two of UN charter as well as article 32 of the same charter.
Resolutions with reference numbers 47/9, 50/10 of United Nations General Assembly have been violated through US imposing unilateral sanctions against Iran.
According to Algerian Accord, the US has been committed not to interfere in Iran's internal affairs but unilateral sanctions imposed by the US violate the Algerian Accord between Iran and the United States categorically.
Unilateral sanctions imposed against countries also violate international conventions on economy, social and cultural issues.
International economic, social and cultural conventions in its various clauses outlined as 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 18 have guaranteed benefiting from such legitimate rights as a fair situation, suitable job opportunity, and proper and standard life style including food, clothing and accommodations, health, education, scientific progress as well as arts.
Therefore, the US through imposing unilateral economic and scientific sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran has violated its previous pledges and obligations stipulated in Algeria Accord, UN Charter, international economic, social, cultural conventions along with various resolutions issued by UN General Assembly and all in all have violated the international law.
