Speaker says US accountable for crimes in Zahedan
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, July 17, IRNA -- Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani warned the US here on Saturday on its responsibility for the Thursday blasts in the southeastern Iranian city of Zahedan.
Addressing the closing ceremony on the National Iranian Youth Festival, Larijani said the US officials are not capable of running away from the blasts’ results.
The late July 15 blasts hit outside the city's Grand Mosque, leaving widespread devastations in its trail. The two explosions that took place in front of the mosque also ripped through nearby shops. The two explosions left 27 martyred and 300 wounded.
Iran’s Majlis speaker termed the action of bombing Zahedan as “brutality” and added the people were performing prayers while they were attacked.
Referring to the relations between the evil group of Jundollah and the US, Larijani said the US government, by its support for the terrorist groups, seeks ambitions in the region.
Iran has accurate information about the relations between the recently executed militant leader, Abdolmalek Rigi, with the US which indicates that the US had been encouraging him in its terrorist operations, the speaker said.
