Hojj. Sediqi: US behind Thursday's twin blasts in Zahedan
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, July 16, IRNA -- Substitute Friday prayers leader of Tehran Hojjatoleslam Kazem Sediqi here on Friday condemned Thursday’s terrorist bombings in southeastern Iranian city of Zahedan (Sistan-Balouchestan Province) and said the US is behind the tragic incident.
Delivering his second Friday prayers sermon, Hojjatoleslam Sediqi said the US masterminded the “ignorant and sold-out” terrorists who carried out the terrorist move.
Two explosions in front of Zahedan's Grand Mosque on Thursday left more than 27 martyrs and over 270 injured.
The first explosion occurred at 9:20 p.m. local time (1650 GMT) in front of the city's Grand Mosque, and was followed by a second blast within minutes.
Pointing to Iranian researcher, Shahram Amiri, who returned home from the US on Thursday after 14 months of ordeal, Hojjatoleslam Sediqi said, “A country (US), which claims to be civilized, kidnapped a scholar of our country out of its hostility against Iran, thus bringing about political and intelligence disgrace for itself and proving that it is a very low-graded country.”
He then lauded the role of the Guardian Council in restoring calm after the 10th presidential elections last year.
