Minister urges Russians to deliver S300s to Iran
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, June 30, IRNA -- Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi here on Wednesday urged Russians to fulfill their commitments regarding delivery of S300 air defense missiles to Iran.
Talking to reporters after a cabinet ministers meeting, he said S300 systems are associated with the defense contracts between the two countries and has nothing to do with the UN Security Council resolutions.
The minister stated that the Russians should be responsive to the contract.
He reiterated that the Islamic Republic will follow up the case seriously through relevant channels.
On possible inspection of Iranian ships after imposition of recent sanctions, Vahidi said it is unlikely that the countries interested in international security will resort to such acts.
If such things happen, the Islamic Republic would have several choices to reciprocate, he warned.
