Tehran does not heed disinformation campaign over nuclear program

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, June 28, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast said on Monday that Tehran does not heed disinformation campaign over national nuclear program.

Talking to IRNA, he reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran will go ahead with the national nuclear program in line with Non-Proliferation Treaty and exercising full cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.

He made the remarks in response to claims recently made by the Central Intelligence Agency Director Leon Panetta.

The CIA chief told ABC TV network that the UN nuclear watchdog thinks Iran has enough low-enriched uranium now for two bombs, but that Tehran would have to further enrich the material first. He added that Tehran will produce the bombs and their launch-pads within the next two years.

Such remarks are made within the framework of psychological war in order to mislead the world public opinion regarding Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, Mehman-Parast reiterated.

He urged the West to take serious measures towards establishment of a world free from nuclear weapons, particularly disarmament of the the nuclear weapons states, namely the Zionist regime.
