Supreme Leader calls on masses to trust in God

Tehran, May 24, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said here Monday that trust in God and self-reliance are as miraculous as liberation of southwestern Iranian city of Khorramshahr in 1982.

Addressing a graduation ceremony for a group of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and the Islamic Republic Army cadets on the liberation anniversary of Khorramshahr, Ayatollah Khamenei said the day marking liberation of the city is an unforgettable day in the Islamic Revolution and Iran’s history.

Ayatollah Khamenei, who is also Commander-In-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, quoted the late Imam Khomeini as saying that God liberated Khorramshahr and said the Imam's remarks is the most delicate and wisest comment ever made on the issue because during Beit-ul-Moqaddas operations, which led to Khorramshahr's liberation, power of God Almighty empowered Muslim combatants.

The Supreme Leader advised the youth to study different aspects of the heroic Beit-ul-Moqaddas operations, which led to Khorramshahr's liberation.

“Beit-ul-Moqaddas operations and Khorramshahr's liberation not only dealt a deadly blow on the Baathist army but also on the imperialist powers, which backed Saddam’s war machine,” the Supreme Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that today, the same guys, who used to support the enemy of the Iranian nation, are confronting people although they are unable to face the nation which relies on its faith, determination, endeavors and devotion.

“Enemies of the Iranian nation try to distort realities through their propaganda, while they themselves are cause of insecurity and crimes in most parts of the world, especially Afghanistan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq and occupied Palestine,” the Supreme Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that enemies of the Iranian nation will definitely suffer defeat as they did in 1982, announced the Supreme Leader, adding that contrary to other political systems, the Islamic Republic of Iran has a message.

“The message of the Islamic establishment is the same as values, humanity and saving nations from clutches of domineering powers. Nations around the world are in dire need of hearing such a message.”

The world's devouring powers are hostile to the Iranian nation mainly because of its message, said Ayatollah Khamenei, adding that that’s for 31 years that such confrontations are seen in different forms, including military attack, political aggression, economic sanctions and different sorts of threats but the Iranian nation’s resistance has guaranteed the strong foundations of the Islamic system of Iran.

The Paramount Leader said enemies have wrong calculations today, because resistance and spiritual power of the Iranian nation, especially the faithful youth, have made other nations hopeful and awake.
