Iran advises G5+1 to adopt rational stand

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, May 19, IRNA -- The president’s Advisor Mojtaba Samareh Hashemi said on Wednesday that Iran expects the G5+1 to adopt rational stand consistent with Tehran declaration endorsed by Iran, Turkey and Brazil.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the cabinet meeting, he said drafting resolution by the veto-wielding powers of the United Nations Security Council on Iranian nuclear program lacks legitimacy.

He said that the Tehran declaration has considered various scenarios such as passing resolutions against Iran by the Security Council.

Iran is a signatory to Non-Proliferation Treaty and cameras of the International Atomic Energy Agency are monitoring all Iranian nuclear sites round the clock in line with the Agency's Safeguards Agreement.

Iran and the IAEA signed a modality plan to remove outstanding issues about the national nuclear program so far and the agency verified afterwards that it found that Iran has made no diversion from the civilian purpose.
