Supreme Leader: Iran should turn to exemplary model for Muslim World

Tehran, May 5, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that the pious Iranian nation should attain their significant status and turn to an exemplary model for the Muslim World.

The Supreme Leader made the remarks in a meeting with thousands of enthusiastic teachers.

The Supreme Leader felicitated the teachers on 'Teacher's Day', and said that teachers have played a leading role in bringing up of men and women round the globe.

The Supreme Leader said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to extend assistance to the Muslim World and share experience in economic development and science with them.

"Iranian nation should play its historical role through taking the lead in theoretical, scientific, political and social progress for the Muslim World."

The Supreme Leader honored Martyr Ayatollah Morteza Motahari for the great achievements he made in various fields of social and Islamic studies and described his works as an invaluable asset for Iranian nation.

Ayatollah Motahari is known as symbolic teacher and the Teacher's Day is named after his martyrdom by terrorists on the early days of victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

The Supreme Leader said that in order to conquer peaks of success and progress, the whole nation should spare no efforts to make breakthrough.

“If Iranian nation successfully attains its status, it will prepare grounds for the Muslim World to move forward and put impact on the destiny of the world,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Prior to Supreme Leader’s remarks, Minister of Education Hamid Haji-babaei briefed the Supreme Leader on performance of his ministry.
