Salehi: Iran wants tangible guarantees for nuclear swap deal
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, April 13, IRNA -- Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi said on Tuesday that Iran is ready for nuclear swap deal of one ton of 3.5 percent enriched uranium for 100 kg of 20 percent enriched uranium if provided tangible guarantees.
Salehi made the remarks on the sidelines of the opening exhibition on” Achievement of Technological Know-How” in Tehran on Tuesday.
After receiving money, the US was supposed to provide Tehran’s medical research reactor with required enriched uranium but they did not fulfill their promises, nor did they reimburse the money, he said.
Lack of trust has prompted Iran to call for tangible guarantees for nuclear swap deal with the other side, Salehi said.
Iran’s proposal has been put at the disposal of IAEA, he said.
