Sanctions will not stop Iranian nuclear program: Ahmadinejad

Berlin, Apr 8, IRNA -- Threatening Iran with sanctions will not stop its nuclear program, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in an exclusive interview with the private German television network RTL, due to be aired Thursday evening.
"If we don't receive the fuel, we will produce our own," the Iranian president was quoted saying.
He stressed Iran would not be influenced by other countries on the nuclear issue.
"We can do without those countries which exercise pressure on us," said Ahmadinejad, referring also to Germany.
"We want good economic as well as cultural relations with Germany but we can also get by without it," he added.
Ahmadinejad reaffirmed Iran's nuclear program was solely serving for civilian urposes.
"We are in principle against atomic bombs. For us, weapons of mass destruction are inhuman," he added.
