Iran's Navy saves oil tanker in Gulf of Aden

Tehran, April 6, IRNA -- Iran’s Navy prevented hijacking of an Iranian oil tanker by the pirates in the waters of Gulf of Aden.
According to Public Relations Department of the Navy, the oil tanker named ‘Iran Faraz’ was sailing from the southern Iranian port city of Bushehr to Izmir, Turkey, when it was attacked by four speed boats belonged to the Somali pirates.
With the opportune operations by the Iranian forces, the pirates fled and ‘Iran Faraz’ continued sailing to the Turkish port city.
Iran’s Navy has for several times conducted operations in the Gulf of Aden to rescue the Iranian boats from the clutches of the Somali pirates.
