Production lines inaugurated for 2 new advanced missiles

Tehran, Feb 6, IRNA -- Minister of Defense Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi inaugurated Saturday the production lines of two new advanced guided missiles.
The production lines were inaugurated for the advanced anti-armor “Toofan-5” (Storm-5) missile and anti-chopper guided “Qae’m” (Rising) missile in a ceremony held on the occasion of the 31st victory anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
The Toofan-5 missile is one of the most advanced anti-armor weapons with high destructive power which would deeply destroy tanks and other armored vehicles, said the minister speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony.
He added that the Qae’m missile is a semi-heavy guided missile which would target every low-speed aircraft flying in low-height, specially helicopters.
“After reaching the mass production stage in the future, the two modern missiles would upgrade Iran’s defensive power both in ground and air,” Vahidi stated.
He added that Iran’s armed forces have had the most reliable logistic supports thanked to the relentless efforts of the genius Iranian specialists and experts.
