Major rally held in Tehran calling for severe punishment of rioters

Tehran, Dec 30, IRNA -- Crowds of Tehranis staged rallies which culminated at Enqelab Square in protest at sacrilege of Ashura and Imam Hussein (AS), the third Imam of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Infallible Household by the rioters.
They called for identifying those involved in the riots and sacrilege acts and put them to trial.
They also warned the political currents and those who suffered defeat in the presidential elections to distance themselves from the counterrevolutions. Otherwise, they will be subject to disgrace.
The demonstrators issued a resolution at the end of the rally, declaring their abhorrence at the sacrilegious acts committed by the counterrevolutionaries.
They also condemned desecration of religious values which reveals the depth of sedition and plot against the territorial integrity, national interests and the Islamic Republic.
They noted that the sacrilege committed by the rioters requires the responsible organizations to dealt with the issue seriously.
They called for severe punishment of the rioters who committed the sedition.
They once again renewed their allegiance to the lofty ideals of the father of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini and Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
