IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Dec 20, IRNA -- Commander of Iran’s Army (Ground Force), Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan said Sunday that enemy is pursuing a soft war against Iran by its mercenary forces inside the country.
Addressing a local gathering here, the commander said, enemies of the Islamic Revolution have waged a new war against Iran using the new weapon of imposing soft threats which are more fatal than other weapons and which target the ideological bases and minds of the young generation.
Pourdastan referred to the use of Internet, satellites and local mercenary figures by enemy as new means of progressing soft war against a country.
“Enemy is to defeat our nation and bring it to its knee without using even a gun. But the more they tighten their economic sanctions against us, the more active and livlier will our courageous youth play their roles in various fields,” stressed the commander.
He added that the Iran-phobia project was another plan pursued by big powers to frustrate Iranian nation.
Pourdastan ensured regional states that Iran was pursuing a defensive doctrine and was in favor of a lasting peace in the region.
