Turkish MP: Iranians' resistance not broken by sanctions

Mardin, Turkey, Dec 17, IRNA -- Head of Turkish Parliament's Committee for Foreign Affairs has said imposing tougher sanctions against Iran would have no result and would not break down Iranians’ resistance, it was reported on Thursday.
Murad Marjan made the remarks in an exclusive interview with IRNA in the southeastern Turkish province of Mardin.
Asked on Ankara's stance on US sanctions against Tehran, the MP said Turkey has persistently favored solving international problems through negotiations and rejected any other solution but resolving crises by talks.
The Turkish MP reiterated Ankara’s support for Tehran's peaceful nuclear activities.
Marjan referred to Iran as a powerful country with a people who would resist against any sanction.
As for the recent exchange of visits between the Iranian and Turkish officials, Marjan said they have given new perspective to bilateral cooperation.
