Enemy attempts to prevent progress of Iranian nation: President

Tehran, Dec 16, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday that the enemy is attempting to prevent the progress of the Iranian nation.
Addressing the 9th festival on praising selected researchers and scientists, he said certain states make use of scientific and technological potentials to their own interests.
President Ahmadinejad stressed that sciences should be exclusively at the service of the human societies.
As to efforts made by arrogant regimes, he said the enemies are trying to create obstacles on the way of development of nations, he said, adding that they are making efforts to damage the Islamic Republic system in different forms.
Referring to the approach of certain countries regarding Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, he said they are trying to deprive the Iranian nation from the pursuance of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
He underlined the need for vigilance and resistance of the Iranian people against such conspiracies of the enemies.
The President further praised the achievements of the Iranian scientists in various industrial, medical, aerospace, nanotechnology, biotechnology and nuclear areas. However, he expressed hope that more victories would be achieved by the Iranian scientists in the near future.
