Western media tries to damage Iran's nuclear program: FM spokesman
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Dec 15, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mihman-Parast said on Tuesday that the Western media’s claims are aimed at damaging Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
Talking to reporters, he added that such baseless moves by the Western media is political oriented, the objective of which is to exert pressure on Tehran.
On the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s warning to Latin American nations about their ties with Iran, he said such remarks are against diplomatic norms.
Clinton warned Latin American states last week against becoming too closely involved with Iran, saying that doing so was really a bad idea that could have consequences for them.
The Latin American countries believe that Washington is interfering in their domestic affairs, Mihman-Parast reiterated.
Asked about Turkey’s mediation in settlement of Iran’s nuclear dispute, he said Tehran welcomes the great efforts made by the friendly country, Turkey, to defend the Islamic Republic’s peaceful nuclear program.
Tehran will do all within its power to achieve its inalienable rights, he said, adding that the Islamic Republic will not withdraw from its legitimate rights even one iota.
On the ongoing conflicts in Yemen, Mihman-Parast said the territorial integrity, tranquility and solidarity of Yemen is a priority for the Islamic Republic.
He condemned efforts made by certain foreign countries to create discord in that country.
