Tehran ready to exchange fuel under certain conditions: spokesman
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Dec 8, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mihman-Parast said on Tuesday that Tehran is ready to exchange fuel under certain conditions.
Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing, he added that the Islamic Republic has never said that it would not exchange fuel.
Tehran is in need of fuel for medical purposes, he said, adding that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is duty bound to supply fuel to Iran as its committed member.
Referring to the contradictory acts by certain Western countries, he reiterated that they are not reliable sources. Iran is ready to exchange fuel if confidence is built between the two sides, the spokesman added.
Expressing his regret over the Swiss referendum vote to ban construction of minarets in that European country, he said Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has voiced Tehran’s protest in a conversation with his Swiss counterpart.
Such an abnormal move is another example of violation of religious rights by the so-called democracy advocates.
